Privacy Policy

4ward Vehicle Solutions Limited (company number 05452680), trading as I Buy Old Cars, is the controller of personal data collected through ibuyoldcars.co.uk. We use it to talk to you about selling a vehicle and to arrange collection or drop-off.

Who can I contact?

Email 4wardvehicle@gmail.com about anything to do with your data.

What do you collect?

If you call, email or use a contact form on this site, we keep the details you give us, such as your name, phone number, email address, and details of the vehicle you want to sell.

We do not take card payments on this website. We pay for vehicles by cash or bank transfer, arranged away from the site. Scrap and end-of-life vehicles are paid by bank transfer only.

Why do you use it?

We use it to contact you, agree a price, collect or receive the vehicle, and pay you. Our legal basis is the contract with you (or the steps before it) and our legitimate interest in running the business.

How long do you keep it?

We keep it for as long as the enquiry or the purchase needs it, then as normal business and tax records for as long as the law requires. Enquiries that do not go ahead are not kept indefinitely.

Who do you share it with?

We do not sell your personal data. We share only what is needed to complete the purchase, such as with our bank when we pay by transfer, and with the DVLA or an authorised treatment facility where the law requires it. If a regulator or the police lawfully ask for data, we will provide it.

Do you use cookies or analytics?

The site uses technical cookies it needs to work. If we add analytics or tracking, we will update this page first.

What are my rights?

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it erased, by emailing 4wardvehicle@gmail.com. You can also ask us to restrict how we use it, object to how we use it, or receive a copy in a portable format, where those rights apply. We may need to keep some records if the law requires it.

How do I complain?

Please email us first at 4wardvehicle@gmail.com. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
